How many icebergs are there?

Approximately 40,000 icebergs, medium to large size, break from the glaciers annually in Greenland and about 1-2% (400-800) of those make it as far south as 48 degrees north latitude (St. John's). These numbers vary from year to year. Some years there are very few while others there are so many you can't see out of Twillingate harbour!
