Notre Dame Bay Memorial Health Centre, located in Twillingate, is a 49 bed facility consisting of 31 long term care and 18 acute care beds. The Centre also houses an Outpatient and Emergency Department.

The original Notre Dame Bay Memorial Hospital opened in 1924 with 60 beds. In 1936 a new wing with an additional 31 beds was added. A disastrous fire destroyed part of the Hospital in 1943. In 1952 a Dental Clinic was added and in 1973, a Clinic for New World Island opened in Virgin Arm. A permanent satellite Clinic was established at Change Islands in 1964.
