Spring Clean Up

Dear Resident,
Town Council invites you to participate in the 2021 Spring Clean Up.
This service aims to help residents and businesses tidy up their properties. This year, Spring Clean Up will commence May 11th.
Please follow the guidelines below, and Thank You for helping to keep Twillingate tidy!
Your garbage must be sorted into separate piles as follows:
METALS | Refrigerators, washers, dryers, bed frames, pipe, etc. |
ELECTRONICS | TVs, microwaves, computers, cell phones, etc. |
HAZARDOUS WASTE | Propane cylinders, paint, pesticides, oil, batteries, antifreeze, fire extinguishers, etc. |
WOOD & WOOD PRODUCTS | Wood furniture, wood and wood products |
TIRES | Vehicle tires (separated from rims) |
OTHER | Upholstered furniture, mattresses, plastics, glass, etc. |
- Be reasonable and do not put out excessive amounts of garbage per household.
- Crews will only pass through once and late items will not be picked up.
- Items MUST be sorted into piles as outlined above. If it’s not sorted, it will not be picked up.
- All loose items must be in either clear plastic bags or containers/boxes weighing no more than 50 lbs. Dark bags will not be picked up.
- All broken glass must be clearly marked and properly contained.
- All nails should be removed or bent into wood completely on wood and wood products.
- The following items will NOT be collected: yard waste (trees, tree branches), car wrecks, construction waste (material from renovated or demolished buildings, shingles, gyproc, windows, ceramic tile, etc.), fishing gear (crab pots, nets, etc.), dark garbage bags.
